The UK is regarded as one of the stingiest countries when it comes to foreign aid. This month it was revealed that the British Government had funded an Ethiopian girl band with 4-5 million pounds. Many Brits argued that the money would be better spent on promoting Gary Barlow’s new talent TV show, Let it Shine, where he searches for a new boy band to play the role of Take That in their new musical.
Britain however, in 2015 was the 6th most generous country, sending over 11 million
children to school around the world. That is nearly five times the amount of children in
British schools in 2016. When we asked Theresa May for her thoughts on this achievement she responded by asking, “When can these schools be made into Grammar Schools?”
